This video clip is an example of a boy who came up with an idea to help solve a problem. Alina Morse created a lolly pop that you're going to love! She took an original idea and changed it! Homework:
This week you need to brainstorm everyday problems. These problems can be personal or they can be global. Think about problems that you or your family members face at home, at school, in class, in the car, at the grocery store...anywhere! Use your composition journal to write down these problems. Then pick your top 5 problems and possible solutions. (Remember, your solution may be something you physically create or it can be an idea that solves your problem.) Things to remember about brainstorming and creativity: Many people believe that Thomas A. Edison invented the light bulb. The truth is someone else thought of the idea and created it first! What Edison did was make the light bulb better. As you brainstorm think about things that have been invented and then make it better. If you need help then try SCAMPER - the creative technique we have done in class all year long! Need a reminder about SCAMPER? Here is a Video that will help you! |
