Week of September 29th - October 3rd
2nd grade:
Warm up- We finished up our Animal Transformation presentations. Students practiced non-verbal cognitive skills by completing the puzzle, "It's a Fluke".
Lesson- Students continued to investigate and researched information on one of the 3 aquatic biomes: marine, fresh water or estuaries. Then they presented the information they found to the rest of the class. Students were required to listen and take notes on the information that they received from their peers. They recorded the information on a foldable.
This week's lesson required students to practice and demonstrate several Scholarly Behaviors. They were required to: access Information, present information, save information, thirst for knowledge and exercise intellect.
1st Grade:
Warm-up- Identify and locate the 7 continents and 5 oceans
Lesson- We continued to investigate and learn about the 3 aquatic biomes. Students watched a short video on the differences between these biomes. This helped them determine what information they needed to write in their Aquatic Biomes Paper Bag Book. We will finish up our books next week as our warm-up. Parents, please make sure books stay in their binder throughout the year.
Next Week's Schedule:
I will be at Blattman on Monday, October 6th and Tuesday, October 7th. All 2nd graders will report to ALPHA on Monday, October 6th, instead of Thursday. There is no schedule change for ALPHA 1st graders, I will see them on Tuesday. Please make sure students remember to bring their binder to class. Thanks!
